The Ostheimer figures are made exclusively from high-quality, reforestable domestic woods. Most figures are made of maple. Some but also deliberately made of ash. The ash wood has a unique structure and colour scheme, which allows for some figures e.g. rhino or palm tree a unique design. Ash, maple or linden. Most of our figures, like many other toddler toys, are made of maple. The colour of this domestic wood is bright and usually shows very little grain, so it is suitable for the "white" wildlife e.g. Sheep or polar bears also ideal without painting. On the other hand, the texture of the maple wood allows an undisturbed and beautiful painting of the products. Ash is the powerful, idiosyncratic wood with a rain drawing. It supports the idiosyncratic character of many figures in the design. Each figure made of ash looks very different from the rest at first glance. The strong wooden drawings already give some of their own expression, just like in nature. Therefore, at Ostheimer some animals (e.g. rhino, camel, etc.).
